Angras dos Reis If you want to escape from Rio, Costa Verde is a good destination. Costa Verde [Green Coast], is one of the most scenic stretches along the 175-mile coastline between Rio and Sao Paulo, where tropical forest spread down to the ocean, with broad bays, golden sandy beaches and small fishing villages. There are some good resort hotels, villas, trendy restaurants and clubs. Angra dos Reis [Kings' Cove] is the best beach of the area and one of the most untouched beauty spots in the country. Angra dos Reis (English: Creek of Kings) is a municipality located southwest of Rio de Janeiro state, Brazil, some 150 km from the city of Rio de Janeiro. It is famous for its coastline, consisting of the Bay of Ilha Grande, a beautiful and pristine setting having 365 islands, of which the largest and most important is Ilha Grande. Angra dos Reis is one of the most paradise like destinations in Brazil. With lots of islands just off the coast and spectacular beaches: it is a dream destination. The city center of Angra has a few interesting historical sights too. In a small area you can find a great number of convents, churches and monuments, even at The little islands, which is very charming. One example is The Senhor do Bonfim, The Santana and Piedade Churches. The downtown Angra was built in curves , following the wind that blows all day. Besides The churches there is little left from the old colonial style.
